Gunshots fired near Bell Street

LaGRANGE — Residents in the area of Bell Street called 911 after hearing several shots fired in their neighborhood about 1:15 p.m. on Friday.

One witness told LaGrange police officers they actually saw a group of people shoot a weapon, said Sgt. Robert Kirby.

Officers quickly responded to the area, but did not find anything related to the incident, Kirby stated.

One man was detained on Fendig Street after he ran from officers, but Kirby said police could not verify at that time he was involved with the incident on Bell Street.

Police were investigating.
