Shots fired during armed robbery

LaGRANGE — Investigators with the LaGrange Police Department this morning were still searching for a lone gunman who walked into a home in the first block of Hadaway Court off Mitchell Avenue and robbed residents about 1 a.m. on Saturday.

The robber demanded the two people inside the house hand over their money while pointing a gun at them, said investigators.

As the gunman was taking the cash, a struggle over the weapon ensued causing the gun to fire multiple times, LPD officers stated. No one was hurt.

The gunman then fled the scene.

The victims told investigators they believe the robber was a man who goes by the street name “Brightly,” according to a police report.

Anyone with information is asked to call the LaGrange Police Department at 706-883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706-812-1000. There is a reward for details leading to an arrest and callers can remain anonymous.
