Design Group celebrates new expansion

Design Group started in a garage in 1996, but the company has come a long way since then.

In the early 2000s, the company curated an office space on Westside Drive and on Friday, a ribbon cutting celebrated the opening of a brand new warehouse space.

Design Group Exhibit is a complete service Exhibits and Display company specializing in custom made visuals and environments. Locally, the company designs and builds custom-made cabinets, desks, shelves and more for homes and office spaces.

“Over the years, we have expanded to do trade shows, commercial, build outs in Atlanta at the Merchandise Mart and more,” Design Group President Jim Hines said. “Over the past couple of years, we have had a big need to expand our warehousing because all of our clients that do trade shows with us have to store their booth somewhere.”

Design Group creates award-winning trade show displays for both experienced and non-experienced exhibitors. The design teams offer a variety of trade show displays and trade show booths with many custom options and extras, including banner stands, counters, overhead banners, light boxes, pop-up booths, printed graphics, literature holders, trade show furniture, table covers, exhibit graphics and more.

Located a few buildings down from the office, the new warehouse opens up hundreds of square feet in the old warehouse for builders to build the products.

“We were able to double our warehousing capabilities, and we were able to move all our cabinetry machinery as well,” Hines said.

Hines said they got started with cabinetry after a local cabinet maker decided he wanted to become a full-time pilot and close his company.

“We work with Larry (Buchannan), and he’s been working with us with sales and so forth,” Hines said. “We brought on all of his guys and just have been able to continue his legacy. These guys are absolutely amazing with products they put out. It fit with what we do because we do so many build outs in Atlanta, and we have been building commercially for 20 years. This just put us in the residential realm.”

Design Group is located on 102 Westside Drive in LaGrange and can be reached at (888) 817-9881 or info@tbdg.com.
