Election Results from Troup County

Running updates on tonight’s election (results are below this live blog on the page):

10:32 p.m.: Final results are in. Everything you see below includes every precinct, plus absentees and early voting.

10:28 p.m.: Hogansville results are in. We have two more precincts that we don’t have results for so far — West Point and McClendon.

10:03 p.m.: We have early voting numbers for the senior tax exemption and they’ve been added into the totals below. “Yes” won the early voting/absentees that we have with 17,092 votes compared to 4,241 “no’s.”

9:56 p.m.: Rosemont numbers are in, so that’s 11 of 14 precincts. One note on the senior tax amendment, which is looking strongly like it will pass: Our early voting/absentee ballots had that total incorrect for both “yes” and “no.” Instead, it was showing constitutional amendment numbers. We are waiting on the early voting totals for the senior tax amendment. Regardless, “yes” continues to lead by a huge margin, as the percentages did not change when taking early voting out the equation. We’ll update when we have early voting totals on the senior tax exemption soon.

9:27 p.m.: Long Cane has come in. That’s 10 of 14 precincts.

9:19 p.m.: East Vernon and Northside results are in. That’s 9 of 14 precincts.

9:12 p.m.: Gray Hill results are in. That gives us results from 7 precincts out of 14. Our understanding is that there are still some absentees to be added in as well.

9:09 p.m.: At the government center, the first results are coming in. Results have been handed out for Gardner Newman and Griggs Center, which were already factored into our totals below.

9:05 p.m.: The precinct totals we have in are all from “tapes” outside of voting precincts.

8:51 p.m.: We just updated our voting totals with the majority of absentee votes, plus early voting.

8:35 p.m.: We’ve gotten in results from Hollis Hand and Highland. Again, all of this is through the “tapes” placed at each voting precinct. Nothing yet via the government center. Note that we are still waiting on absentees.

8:25 p.m.: Reporters have sent in reports from the Administration Center as well. Again, these results will come through the government center later.

8:15 p.m.: We have our first results, as we have reporters going precinct to precinct to get some totals. Note that these votes will still come through the government center later tonight. So far, we have results from the Griggs Center only, and again, that’s by going straight to the precinct.

8 p.m.: We’re still waiting on results at the government center. Four Georgia counties have started to report results statewide. You can follow those here.

7 p.m.:  Polls have closed in Georgia, and we’re live at the Troup County Government Center, where results will be coming in throughout the night. It’s hard to say how long it’ll be before we get any results, though we anticipate getting early, in-person voting numbers first. We’ll keep you up to date about local elections via this blog, but results are below this text, at the bottom of the page. The results will appear as we type them in, so they are as live as we can possibly make them. Stay tuned for updates.
