Sweetland adds additional concert to summer lineup

Sweetland Amphitheatre announced the addition of a new performer to its 2021 concert lineup Wednesday.

The newest performance will be a team up between American rock group Steve Earle and the Dukes and Mexican folk band Los Lobos.

Steve Earle has gained a reputation as a protege of legendary songwriters including Townes Van Zandt and Guy Clark, according to a press release from Sweetland. His songs have been recorded by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jenings, Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, The Pretenders, and countless others. Los Lobos got a more humble start by playing revved-up versions of Mexican folk music in restaurants and at parties. The band evolved in the 1980s as it tapped into L.A.’s burgeoning punk and college rock scenes. Los Lobos has sold millions of records, won prestigious awards and made fans around the world.

Tickets for Steve Earle and the Dukes and Los Lobos go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m.

Other concerts with tickets still on sale include Travis Tritt (July 16), EmmyLou Harriss (July 24), Bethel Music (July 31), Styx (Aug. 8), Amy Grant (Aug. 14) and the Black Jacket Symphony (Aug. 20).

Tickets bought in 2020 from a third-party seller are no longer valid, and buyers will need to contact the seller for a refund.

Tickets bought directly from Sweetland have already been refunded.
